Hello, I’m Thomas! I’m an experienced in-house corporate real estate professional based in Singapore with a track record of leading workplace teams across EMEA and APAC and I’m actively seeking my next role within a global workplace team.
I have experience stretching location strategy, transactions, design and construction, facilities management and security through to large scale cross regional consolidations and closures. I thrive in environments requiring collaboration with stakeholders from diverse areas to deliver spaces aligned with business objectives and corporate strategy.
Throughout my career, I’ve effectively managed geographically dispersed teams of varying seniority. My proudest achievements lie in fostering trust, empowering employees, and transforming them into goal-oriented contributors, many who have been able to grow from ‘interacting with stakeholders’ to ‘influencing stakeholders’.
I have 17 years of experience in real estate and have been based in Singapore since 2010, working in-house for companies like Polycom/Plantronics and Yahoo!
I’ve been a key member of global department leadership teams establishing our vision, aligning with senior leadership, and motivating regional teams for execution. A typical day is usually diverse and would typically involve things like structuring real estate deals with the CFO, prioritizing capital investments with sales leadership, coaching employees, handling site-specific issues, and engaging internal stakeholders from al corners of the business.
I’ve thrived in times of change and uncertainty, adapting strategies during shifts in business direction, leadership changes or mergers and acquisitions. My expertise spans traditional real estate, capital project delivery, and daily site operations across regions.
I’ve managed 100+ transactions in almost every major market across EMEA and APAC. This enables me to identify novel ways of creating value in each deal, in many cases stretching ‘market norms’. I have significant experience in influencing internal stakeholders, creating and aligning strategies that fit with their business needs. With a strong financial acumen I can perform complex financial analysis and collaborate with technical accounting teams to bring the business concise business decisions.
I have overseen budgets and teams for 60+ sites, ranging from 1,000sf to 350,000sf. This includes a variety of space types including offices, experience centers, logistic hubs, and technical spaces with critical equipment. I’ve operated with both in-house employees and outsourced FM providers, including handling transitions from first to second-generation FM teams. My roles have often extended beyond my region with influence in shaping global job responsibilities, job levelling, and defining our global vision and goals.
Managing portfolios through growth, consolidation and changing business environments has always meant managing simultaneous capital projects. My end to end, idea to delivery involvement, has required my skills to be focused on bringing together diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts, unifying them behind robust briefs and customer centric goals. Owning the full project lifecycle has taught me how project decisions can affect downstream stakeholders and hinder future business changes.
